Captain’s Bio’s

Capt. Jesse Karen was born on the costal water of New Jersey. He caught his first fish at the young age of three and has been hooked ever since. Prowler the flats and back country sawgrass of the Barnaget Bay, Jesse was ahead of his time with the concept and practice of back country fishing.

In 1988 he was relocated to Marco Island where his family continued to raise him on the water. Exploring the many creeks, river, bays and flats Jesse was able to acquire a unique understanding of the 10,000 Islands and Everglades.

Today he prides himself on his light tackle fishing expertise and is often catching fish when others are not. Specializing in Fly and Lure fishing, Jesse can provide the skilled angler the Trip of a Lifetime.

Not to be overlooked he has developed many techniques and rigs for livebait fishing and novice anglers to ease their way into the fun and action packed fishing in SW Florida.

Capt. T.J. Reuther grew up fishing the deep clear waters of the Florida Keys. He was transplanted to Naples in 1981 and had to learn how to fish the very different waters of the 10,000 Islands.

After retiring from a career in Law Enforcement in 1987, he started guiding in the 10,000 Islands. Running his 18 foot bay boat to places he knows the fish are ready to surrender to a good presentation. Using Jigs, plugs and his own special rigs he catches fish even when the “BITE” is not on. Capt. T.J is the best at knowing where the fish were yesterday, and usually find their hiding spots today.

He uses novice friendly light spinning tackle by Shimano, Pflueger and Power Pro to catch most species. If a “big pull” is what you want he had rigs for the 100lb to 300lb Goliath Groupers that hount a few of his select spots.
